
The Virginian-Pilot’s music critic Rashod Ollison stopped by during the month of December to share a story from his memoir, “Soul Serenade.” The theme of the night was “hope,” and the song of the night – picked by Rashod – was “Better Days,” by Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, one of Rashod’s inspirations.
Bio: Rashod Ollison, an award-winning music and culture critic, currently covers music and entertainment for The Virginian-Pilot. He will make his literary debut this January with “Soul Serenade: Rhythm, Blues & Coming of Age Through Vinyl,” a memoir published by Beacon Press that is already receiving good reviews.
